200-Amp Service Upgrade & Electrical Panel Relocation

Sandra’s project combined a complete electrical service upgrade with a new location for the panel. JJM Electric moved the panel out of the bathroom closet into the adjacent room, replaced the exterior service equipment, and added whole-home surge protection.

For homeowners considering a panel replacement or electrical service upgrade in the Pittsburgh area, these before-and-after photos show how the work can extend beyond simply changing the breaker panel.

From the bathroom closet to the adjacent room

The original electrical panels were inside a bathroom closet. As part of this project, we relocated the panel into the adjacent room and installed a new 200-amp Siemens main-breaker panel with 40 spaces and capacity for up to 60 circuits.

New exterior service equipment

The upgrade also included a new meter socket and a 200-amp Siemens exterior service disconnect. We completed the associated service and grounding work as part of the overall installation.

Planning a similar upgrade?

A panel replacement, a service upgrade, and a panel relocation can involve different parts of your home’s electrical system. Sandra’s project brought all three together.

We look at the existing equipment, the panel location, and what your home needs before recommending a scope of work. John explains the plan and keeps you informed as the job progresses—the same communication Sandra highlighted in her review.
