Shaler 100-to-200-Amp Service Upgrade with Generac ATS

A Larger Service Required a New Automatic Transfer Switch

This Shaler project upgraded the home from a 100-amp electrical service to a 200-amp service. Because the existing Generac automatic transfer switch was sized for the original service, it also had to be replaced with a new 200-amp ATS.

JJM Electric installed the new service equipment, replaced the Generac transfer switch, upgraded the interior panel, added whole-home surge protection, and clearly labeled every circuit in the finished panel.

The completed system gives the homeowner greater electrical capacity while preserving automatic generator operation and making the panel easier to understand and service.
